It's A Wrap: October 2016

- Thank God that I was able to survive my third month at work. There have been a lot of issues, trials, and hardships but I’m still here fine and breathing. I want to give myself a round of applause for not easily giving up. I think I’ve matured so much over the last couple of years as I can already bear most of the uncomfortable situations that come my way.

- Relationship wise, nothing really changed. Here I am, still struggling. I don’t know when I will make up my mind whether to stay or walk away.  It’s quite hard as this is not what is expected of me. Should I care about the things that other people will say? I thought that I shouldn’t mind them and just move on with my life. I thought I’ll just let them judge me as much as they want. They don’t know what’s happening anyway, they don’t know how it feels. Till then, I’m still here holding on even If I don’t feel loved anymore, even if I feel like I’m just an extra baggage.

- I want to travel next year once I have my leave credits instated. I want to go alone and find a peaceful place. A travel experience that’s going to be one for the books. An adventure that I’ll treasure for the rest of my life. I’ll have to plan it as early as now so I’ll have everything covered.

- I’ve been downloading a lot of Original Pinoy Music. I don’t know, maybe because I’m into watching Pinoy Big Brother lately and they usually use songs written and sung by Filipino artists as their background music. The video above is a song called "SILA" by SUD. I enjoy listening to it everyday.

- I hope that November will be better. Although I understand that there are things that will be more challenging in the following days, I pray that I’ll be able to overcome all the obstacles that will be thrown in my way.

See you soon! :)

Product Review: Clear Nose Gel Hut Mun Nose Pack

One of my skin issues are these pesky blackheads and whiteheads on my nose. I'm always on the lookout for products that would address this concern as it is a bit troublesome at times. I tired every nose strips and nose packs that I came to know until just recently, one of my favorite Youtuber recommended Clear Nose Gel Hut Mun.

Clear Nose Gel Hut Mun is a product from Thailand (English translation on the package is not available though.) which apparently can be used not only for your nose but also in some other problematic areas around your face such as your cheeks and forehead.

HOW I USED IT:
  • To open up my pores, I place a warm towel on my already cleansed face for about a minute or two.
  •  For hygienic purposes, I used a Q-tip to take out the product from its bottle and spread it on my nose area.
  • I cut the papers which are included in this kit in halves so that I can easily arrange it to fit my nose. I stick it onto my nose right after I applied the product.
  • Once the whole thing dried up, I remove the strips in an upward motion so that it can easily lift all the disgusting matter on my nose.
  • I wipe my nose with a clean towel so as to clean the area and to close the pores.
  • Finally, I would apply a little bit of moisturizer to avoid skin irritation.

The product smells like paste but the consistency is very runny thus, expect a messy application. I feel a cooling sensation after I applied it and there's also a little bit of sting but it's tolerable. The good thing about this product is that it's really effective in unclogging your pores as it lifts away the dirt and grime on your nose. Although you still need to use a comedone extractor so you can remove some stubborn blackheads. As I mentioned above, as this product can also be used in other parts of your face, please make sure you do a patch test first to avoid unnecessary irritations.

Clear Nose Gel Hut Mun is mostly available on online beauty stores but I got mine through Lazada. How about you? What products have you tried lately? Share your experience on the comment box below.

It's A Wrap: September 2016

Her Time

She has been feeling it for a while---the sense of awakening. There is a gentle rage simmering inside her and it is getting stronger by the day. She will hold it close to her---she will nurture it and let it grow. She won't let anyone take it away from her. It is her rocket fuel and finally, she is going places. She can feel it down to her very core---this is her time. She will not only climb mountains---she will move them too.

- Lang Leav, The Universe of Us

-------------------------

It's the start of the "-ber" months and here in the Philippines, it's also the start of the long holidays. I bet Mr. Jose Mari Chan will soon be invading the radio and mall's music playlist. :)

- Finally, I was able to get a copy of Lang Leav's new book release, "The Universe of Us". I love her poems, especially the ones that I can relate to of course. The passage above is one of my favorite.

- This month has been a struggle. I'm almost at the point where I'm really thinking of quitting and letting go. I felt so down and it seems like I'm ready to runaway anytime.

- I realized that you just can't trust anybody nowadays even those whom you thought would support and motivate you.

- It's been a couple of months now since I went back to being a corporate rat.Still, I wasn't able to build up my savings plan. I guess because instead of saving, I'm investing on myself more. I don't think it's a bad thing though.

- There are a lot of things that I need to do and yet, I'm procrastinating. I need to buy a very good planner so that I can plan ahead. Don;t mind me you guys, I'm just a visual learner. I feel like I can accomplish a lot more if I had it written down or if I create some doodles about the things that I want to achieve.

I'm hoping and praying that October would be awesome. I know and I'm aware that hardships and trials will be inevitable but I'm positive that things will get better in time.

See you soon! :)

Product Review: Safeguard Derma Sense Face & Body Bar for Acne Prone Skin

Hello everyone! I know... I know, it's been a while since you last heard from me. I guess I've just been very busy that I can't even visit my own blog! Things get so rough these past couple of weeks plus I was down with flu which really sucks. Anyway, today I have another product review for you my lovely readers. This is long overdue but I still would like to share with you my experience in using Safeguard Derma Sense Face & Body Bar for Acne Prone Skin.

Safeguard Philippines introduced the Derma Sense line which consists of Derma Sense for Sensitive Skin and Derma Sense for Acne Prone Skin. Both are available in Face and Body Bar, Facial Cleanser, and Body Wash. These products has been released in the market for quite some time now but I only got the chance to try one of it recently as this is part of my Lazada PH Haul which you can read here

Safeguard Derma Sense Face & Body Bar for Acne Prone Skin claims to do the following:
  • Helps provide noticeable acne reduction
  • Helps remove acne-causing germs and excess oil
  • Helps recover clear skin with regular use

HOW TO USE:
  • Wet face & body
  • Work up lather with hands or washcloth and spread evenly over face and body
  • Rinse thoroughly
  • Gently pat with a clean towel

I guess because of sleepless nights and of my hormones acting up, a humongous pimple decided to pop out on my right cheek which was really annoying but then again, it came at the right time so I've got the chance to put this product to test.

About a few days after using this soap, it actually did make my pimple appear smaller and with continuous use, it eventually dried up. Not only that, acne sufferers like me also has an issue with pimples popping out on our neck, chest, and back area but as I also use this soap on my body, I feel that the bumps are lesser than before.

The scent of the soap reminds me of Safeguard's "Guava" variant which I find very pleasant and as with all other Safeguard soaps, Derma Sense for Acne Prone Skin is dermatologically tested. Thus, we are sure enough that it wouldn't cause any harm on our skin. In fact, it didn't dry out my skin despite of it being an anti-bacterial soap which is a good thing.

Over all, I would recommend this product to those who suffer with acne problems. It is not only effective in fighting the root cause of acne, it is also very much affordable. The whole family will definitely benefit from it. I got mine from Lazada PH for only Php 79.00 for a 135g face and body bar and is also available in all leading drugstores, department stores, and supermarkets nationwide.

If you would like to know more about Safeguard and all their other products, like Safeguard Philippines on Facebook or visit their website.

Product Review: Lux Perfumed Body Wash in Soft Touch

Hello my lovely readers! Welcome to another product review post. Today , I'm going to talk about Lux Soft Touch Body Wash. As I mentioned before, I'm into anything rose scented lately so I got interested with this product. It has been released in the Philippine market sometime last year and I'm glad that I've got the chance to try it. This is part of my Lazada PH haul which you can read here and is also a promo pack that comes with a free shower puff.

Lux Soft Touch with Silk Essence and French Rose Infusion is part of the perfumed bath collection which is said to be crafted by master perfumers from New York, London, and Paris. It is a moisturizing body wash that promises to leave your skin noticeably soft after every wash. It comes in a sleek 250 ml bottle with a press on cap and it retails for Php 89.00.

HOW TO USE:

1. POUR a coin sized quantity of Lux body wash onto a wet puff.
2. RUB the puff to start forming luxurious lather.
3. MASSAGE all over your body for a long lasting scent on your skin.

The box and the bottle look very elegant but what I love most about this is that the product inside the bottle is neither runny nor too thick thus it is very easy to use. It indeed feel very luxurious once you rub it onto your skin with its rich and creamy lather. It doesn't irritate nor dry out my skin which is  big plus. I don't even have to use any body lotion  once I get off the shower because it leaves my skin moisturized, soft, and supple. The scent is very pleasant and not as strong as I expected since the advertisement says that you'll feel like you're bathing with perfume everyday if you use it. Hence, the fragrance doesn't last long.

Lux is a brand that has been around for so long that you can be sure that their products are of high quality so over all, this is a very good body wash aside from it being affordable. I will repurchase it so I could feel and smell "mayaman" (rich) once in a while! (Lol!, no seriously. I love it.) There are three other variants that you can choose from (White Impress, Magical Spell, and Love Forever) and all are available in different department stores, drugstores, and supermarkets nationwide. How about you? Have you already tried any of the Lux Perfumed Body Wash? Share your experience on the comment box below.

It's A Wrap: August 2016

  • Thank God for another year in my life. Thank you to those who remembered and greeted me. I do appreciate all of your well wishes.
  • Even though my schedule has been very hectic, I’m happy that I was able to survive my first month at work. I thought I’ll be included in the fall outs but yeah, I’m still alive and kicking. Despite encountering some issues recently, I am really hoping that these are just part of what others may call as “birthing pains” as the account that I’m part of and the people I’m working with are relatively new.
  • I received a birthday gift from my new “family” Yay! I appreciate that they gave out small tokens to their employees on their special day. One way or the other, it adds to my motivation knowing that they are interested in creating different ways to make the people working for them  do their best and enjoy their stay.
  • I noticed that I haven’t written anything on my planer since I started working again. I guess it’s because my life currently is very predictable that I don’t have to plan ahead. Anyway, I still need to use it so that I can list down my upcoming blog posts.
  • I realized that there are some people who are willing to do anything, even to the point of stepping onto someone’s foot just to move up the corporate ladder. Haven’t they heard of the saying “Be kind to people on your way up because they are the same people you’ll meet on your way down.”? I am flabbergasted with their sense of self entitlement as if we owe them anything. I myself doesn’t want to miss the opportunity presented to me that’s why I always try to do my best but I always take into consideration how others would feel if I reacted to or do certain things.

Oh well, this month might not end on a good note because of situations that are slowly unfolding. However, I still want to keep that positivity that I started and just pray that things will be better soon.

See you soon! :)

Unboxing: My Choice Products

I received a package last Saturday while I'm still feeling groggy from lack of sleep because I just finished my last shift for the week. At first I was clueless because I couldn't remember if I ordered something online but later on realized that it was from My Choice Philippines. I was so excited to see what's inside the package that I didn't even bother to take a photo of the actual unboxing so yeah, sorry about that. :)

My Choice Philippines offers a wide variety of bath and body products that are not only affordable but also very effective when it comes to caring for our skin. The company believes that "the most powerful ingredients are sourced from nature". Thus, all the products that they carry are derived from natural sources such as fruits and vegetables.

They are very kind to send me the following products to try and review so that I can also share my experience in using it through my blog.

Goat Milk Line:

My Choice Hand & Body Lotion (100 ml)
My Choice Pure Herbal Soap (100 g)
My Choice Spa Salt (350 g)

I'm quite excited to try this line. It smells so sweet like a milk candy! I love that it has a moisturizing effect since our unpredictable weather makes my skin rough and dry.

Papaya Line:

My Choice Papaya Cream with SPF 20 (4 g)
My Choice Rejuvenating Facial Bar Soap (45 g)
My Choice Spa Salt (500 g)

Papaya is known for its whitening and anti-aging properties so who would go wrong with it? It's also cool that the Papaya cream already has a SPF 20, at least I wouldn't have to wear a separate sunscreen when I try it on.

I'll make a review for each of these, just give me some time to use it so that I can provide an honest feedback about the products. Stay tune in my blog to know how it goes. If you want to know more about My Choice Philippines or if you are interested to try their products for yourselves, please visit and like their Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/MyChoicePhilippines
